Pixel Carcassonne is a digital reimagining of the classic board game Carcassonne, brought to life in a colorful pixel art style and enhanced with local multiplayer, player stats, and sneaky gameplay mechanics.

🎮 Features

• 🔲 Tile-Laying Strategy – Build medieval roads, cities, monasteries, and fields - one tile at a time. Gain extra points for shielded cities!

• 🧍 Meeple Mechanics – Command your soldiers in conquest and earn points - don't worry, they will return to you!

• 🔄 Turn-Based Multiplayer – Play live with up to 4 players via real-time WebSocket communication!

• ⚔️ Cheat Function – Sneakily shake your phone to redraw a tile mid-turn, hey you're not supposed to do that...

• 🔍 Expose Mechanic – Suspect a cheater? Tap the Expose! button to call them out - but beware: false accusations have consequences!

• 🔐 JWT Authentication – Register an account and sign in! Every user action is authenticated via JSON Web Tokens - very secure, trust me!

• 📊 Player Statistics – Track your progress with detailed stats: win rate, highscore, games played, games won - directly from the main menu!

• 🖼️ Pixel-Art Visuals – Every tile, meeple, and screen is rendered in nostalgia-inducing retro pixel art!

• 🎵 8-Bit Soundtrack – Enjoy immersive and dynamic background music reminiscent of classic retro games!

🧪 About the Project

This game was developed as part of a software engineering university course, with the task of recreating a classic board game as native Android app, with:

• A full client-server architecture

• Live round-based multiplayer gameplay 

• A cheating & exposing mechanic

• Use of mobile hardware sensors
